Our fifth hole is the longest hole on the course, and also plays from one of the lowest points on the course to one of the highest points the elevation rise is 84 feet! The tee shot is played to a valley with trees on the left and a huge hill on the right. A tee shot that lands on the right side of the fairway will bound to the middle, and a smart player hits into the rough during the dry conditions of late summer. If the second shot is long enough and drawn, it might make the upper part of the fairway, about 100 yards from the green. Anything short of this bounds to the right, and an overcooked ball will rattle in the trees to the left. The third shot easily plays two clubs longer than the yardage calls for to an elevated green. The green is one of the three most severe on the course, sloping from back to front.
