The tenth is one of the most demanding driving holes on the course. From your perch near the clubhouse, high above the course (the children of the neighborhood love this hill for sledding in the winter,) you feel as if you could really rip one. Then, however, you look at the obstacles: a fairway that pitches severely right to left, trees obstructing the right line, and the possibility of drawing a ball out-of-bounds onto Gass Road. Suddenly, the hole becomes a little more daunting. The correct line for a long driver is over the sentential tree on the right. Properly struck, the ball will hit the slope and bound into the middle of the fairway. Huge bunkers on both sides of the green obstruct your shot to the bowl shaped green, and you know that any shot struck too far will leave a delicate flop to a green that runs away from you it will be most difficult to place your recovery anywhere close to the pin. The green is a plethora of breaks, fast and uncontrollable if you are above the hole, or calling for a rainbow if you are to the right or left of the hole.
